Does Avast For Mac Keep My Mac Safe Mode

Best Free Password Manager!

I've also tried LastPass and Dashlane, but Avast Password is the one I kept and have been using.
It has a simple, yet effective interface to manage your passwords. The best part is that it syncs your passwords across all of your devices that have Avast installed.
The other password managers are too complex and want to take your money monthly.

Works like a charm

Very easy to use app, I love it beacuse I can sync to my iphone al the passwords and keep them organize

will not sync/customer service no help

The app on my Mac and iPhone will not sync. I am unable to authorize my iPhone on my Mac. I am signing in with the same login information. When I check to see pending devices authorizations, it says, “Couldn’t retrieve device list.” The support pages are useless on this subject. Customer service is useless as well. They can’t figure it out.

You can configure Avast Antivirus to ignore programs and websites that you know are safe by adding them to an exclusions list. Avast Antivirus does not identify items in the exclusions list as threats. Therefore, you must be absolutely sure that the items you add to the exclusion list are safe because Avast Antivirus will not scan them. You can remove items from the exclusions list later if you learn that the program is a threat.

How does Avast Antivirus protect your system?

The default steps taken by the Avast Antivirus to protect your system include:

  • Moving programs and files to the Virus Chest and blocking them from running on your system.
  • Blocking access to websites that threaten your system.

What is a false positive?

The Avast Antivirus shields and scans are proactive detection methods which provide the best protection possible. However, this can lead to a higher rate of false positive detections.

A false positive detection is when a scan wrongly marks a safe file or website as a threat. These threats include the following:

  • Malware: a program designed specifically to attack computer systems to steal data or use the system resources for malicious purposes.
  • PUPs: Potentially Unwanted Programs are programs stealthily downloaded alongside other programs. They appear to be safe computer programs, but they behave in unusual ways that trigger Avast Antivirus to protect your system.

How can you regain access to a safe program or website identified as a threat?

If you need to regain access to a program or website that you are sure is safe to use we recommend the following the articles:

  • All available Avast antivirus software
  • All supported operating systems
